Featured Interview
Deputy Zero is a new band in L.A. that’s been playing gigs around town for about six months. They’re hotter than a lot of bands I’ve seen together for 10 years. Guitarist Sean Campbell’s bent-chord riffs cry over hard cymbal crashes and steady bass lines. A sense of satirical homage plays out in a lot of the band’s lyrics, exemplified in the tune Plastic Love Doll. You can check out the track and others on their MySpace page. This band is a must-see live. The video below features a live performance clip and brief interview with Campbell. He answers the question I intend to ask all indie bands: How would you improve the American independent music scene?
